The Palace

The structure of the building was built by Portugal in the colonial period. The complex has a construction area of 2471 square meters, with the main building, which is also the official residence of the President, occupying an area of 1171 square meters. At the rear are the administrative buildings which, in turn, occupy about 1300 square meters. In all, including patios and gardens, the imposing complex totals 4500 square meters.

The last Portuguese ambassador in the country delivered to the Guinean government the model and the descriptive memory of the building structure, which stands out for its grandeur. The Palace's architecture was seriously affected during the 1998-1999 war, but in 2013 it was fully recovered and restored by Chinese cooperation in 18 months of technical work.
